CPU Mining and Octominer
In this video I acquired over future plans with operating my CPU Mining Rigs with server PSUs in addition to some information relating to Octominer which will likely be permitting single unit purchases for 3 days solely beginning Dec eleventh throughout @Red Panda Mining dwell stream.
RedPandaMining:…
Have you been using server PSUs on you CPU Rigs?
wow Rabid you are growing rly fast, i am realy happy for you gl mate wit future work, and that soldering copper thing (tape-mesh-braid) is for desoldering stuf, or removing excess solder.
I gpu mine and I have always used sever power supplies but I would not reccomend them for most people because they are louder than consumer. Also for efficiency I would reccomend platinum not sure why you would use gold, maybe it doesn't make as much difference as I thought ? I suppose it depends on each application and how much you scale up.
Definitly looking forward to the next video, nice little kit you got there with flux, heat gun, etc
Thanks for the video.
If I don't have 240V will the octominer psus work but at a lower power capacity. Theyre just hp psus right that can accept lower voltage?
Can someone explain me about the 24 pin cable? It still use an ATX psu to power the 24 pin?
Thank you for the shout out! We're excited for our giveaway on Saturday with RPM. We're stoked that you are enjoying the X12ULTRA and that you would want to outfit your entire farm to the server cases, that's so awesome. We will be giving away actually 6 rigs; (2) X12ULTRAs, (2) X8ULTRAs, and (2) units a new product that launches in January 2022 which will be the X8ULTRA+.
I'm mining with all my 4 R9 3900X CPUs using 4 Corsair CV450 80 Bronze ATX power supplies and so far after 2 years, not a single issue. I don't know where these allegations are coming from but they seem to be definitely inaccurate.
Have a great week my brother <3
Missread it as server cpus lol
For me 4 rigs server PSU wouldn’t make sense, 4 EVGA 460 $25 -$30 each from Amazon with all wiring and portability, excellent videos regardless
faster better !!
I know how to solder since I'm 14yo, here's my recommendation:
Step 1 Throw away the whole kit you just bought.
Step 2 Contact me on one of the discords (misfit?) and I will give you some recommendations.
PS thanks for trying to get rid of those barrel plugs and giving good example for other noobs.
my 2.5mm barrels got to hot for my liking. I cut both ends and just soldered the line together. The wires dont even get warm to the touch.
That server psu is also platinum based on the blue plug seen at 3:03 and earlier. Rig 4 says thanks for the spotlight 3:54
Doesn’t the hashrate go down if you run 3800mhz on 1.0Volt? Wouldn’t be better hashrate wise to go 1.25volt or higher?
Go rig 5 🙂
bronze psu ae not goods?
Can't wait to see the results. Love your channel. Do you use PBO 2? Or just undervolt and overclock?
Great vid! my man ! I wonder if i can use my Bitmain , has 10 – 6 pins!!
In my personal experience and opinion (if anyone cares) the 5mm x 2.1mm do melt. Even if you use a 2.5mm x 2.1 mm adapter, and the 5mm x 2.5mm barrel plugs are garbage plus sometimes hard to find.
I personally Strip the female barrel plug end cable (that comes with the pico) and use a Wago Lever Nut 3 conductor. They're about 0.47 cents CAD each. Most are rated for 600v & 20amp.
And can support 28 to 12 awg stranded or solid.
So perfect for the 14awg cable going from my Wago to the x-adapter Breakout Board.
2x 3 conductor Wago for each Pico board.
The 2x positives from the pico to the Wago, and 1x positive 14awg from the wago to the Breakout Board.
And the The 2x negatives from the pico to the Wago, and 1x negative 14awg from the wago to the Breakout Board.
(If any of that makes sense)
Wagos are high quality and easy to use. No soldering, no screw. Just plug in your cable and snap closed.
Easy release also if needed.
Just another option for people if they want to try.
been mining raptoreum watching your videos but from past week looks like the network hashrate gone really upwards and rtm prices are hell down.. do you still see it profitable..?
Your soldering pencil kit is more for single or double sided PCB's than 14ga wires but should work just take longer. As the others have told you the flat braid is solder wick for removing excess solder from circuit boards. What you called flux is the solder wire with flux core you will melt onto the connection. Looking forward to seeing you improve the wiring to carry more current!
I just minded my first raptorium last night! 😀
There there rig 5. There there.
One more thing – did You notice rejected shares with XMRig vs cpuminer? All my cpuminer-opt-gr rigs report no rejects (stalles only from time to time) but XMRig workers have like 99.xx% efficiency on the same pools with like 1d uptimes
Unless You have these PICOs for free 🙂 Where I live I can get decent 550W gold for similar price to one PICO 300W. these PICOs are about 80-85% efficient. Everyone needs to calculate how it goes for themselves 🙂
5:02 – Soldering Iron Stand and Rest;
5:17 – Soldering Wick (Residue Lead Remover);
5:14 – Suction Pump (for Lead Suction);
🔥🔥🔥
The copper meshed wire that's bare and wrapped up is used for wicking old solder off components. So yes, removing old solder. You May even have a suction tool thats used for removing solder as well.
Rabid is the Ryzen 7 5800x good?
Why is it not recommended to long term mine with Bronze?
the braded stuff is desoldering cord
Are you still on your 011 data pool with majority of your cpus?
