Limit CPU Usage And Threads
In this video I present you guys how one can set your XMRIG CPU Threads In HiveOS no longer solely are you able to now restrict your threads however should you manually add all threads you’ll achieve a efficiency enhance as effectively!
Command:
“ghostrider”:…

Do you worry about LA when cpu mining and what would a maximum safe range be?
How many numbers should I enter in the command for a Ryzen 9 5900x? from 0 to 17? from 0 to 23? or from 0 to 15?
This is great info for Ryzen but will not work with INtel AVX2 CPUs. i5 will outperform i7 due to default threads being set too high, and entering 6 threads it will go to 8 every time. So who knows the syntax to make it work? In earlier versions of Xm Rig in windows it WAS possible, but not here, not now. Some thread settings will make the config file fail to load.
Hello, thank you very much for your help. I had the same problem with the DERO coin, and I was able to solve it thanks to your help. I share my experience to help others. After trying many options the correct code is this. "astrobwt": [0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8].
Greetings to all and I hope it serves you as well as me.
Always coming in clutch much appreciated! ⛏️
Great Info Thanks
Thanks for creating the video. Question – Do we need to do a similar tuning to RandomX and Cryptonight-XHV that XMrig is also using ?
After entering what you suggested (I am using the 12 core/24 thread Rizen chip you suggested in your cpu rig build video), I am seeing this
speed 10s/60s/15m 4533.9 4533.6 3551.7 H/s max 6848.5 H/s avg 3517.8 H/s
havent done any tuning yet, Are these numbers in line with what you would expect?
Totally worked, I’m a noob so this was a great help. With my hash rate up couldn’t be happier! Thx
Ryzen 9 3900x is [0 to 24] or to 31?
And the command you have "threads": 8 what should it be for ryzen 9 3900 x
Amazing, thank you so much. I gave up this a long time ago, but you solved it 🙂
my rig is Ryzen 9 5900X
I am just transferring from windows to this HIVE OS. I just only got 7KHS on monero ocean at HIVE OS with this XMRIG, comparing in windows was about double faster. please share your cpu config that works for MO. thanks
Does using the ghost writer algo would work if you mine doge ?
so I was wondering what would happen if I pasted up to 32 threads on a Ryzen 3900x and it is giving hash on all 32. How can that be if its only a 24 thread CPU? Could this damage the CPU?
So get this
I mine on moneroOcean
Both gpu and cpu
4 1060 6gb on eth and 3 ryzen 9 3900's power floats from like 680- 800 watts @ the wall
The gpus locked around 350 watts total
So the rest is the boards 3 cpus and algo switching
The gpus pull in literally double the profit over the cpus with less power drawn
And u skip those high gas /transfer fees and also those higher minimum minimum payouts
Something for people to check out
U still get paid from your hash and blocks mined like cpu and u get nice lil burst when the pool hits a eth block so win win there and also less fees with monero
Good info
If you have 36 threads, just use this.
Threads: 35;
If have 24 threads, use.
Threads: 23;
One thread always for operation system
Appreciate your effort, do you prefer xmrig on cpuminer? If so, why
You are the boss!
👍👍 a lot of thanks
would this work on other algo's? or just ghostrider ?
I tried with my R9 3900XT, with [0,…19] only get 2.9khs on 3.7GHZ 1Volt. I think I can get 3.3khs on windows with 24threads. Windows is higher than hive os? Or my Hive OS setting was wrong?
Got my 3900x at 57w (CPU package sensor in software, but I think it's accurate) at 3200h/s. In Windows at 92% max power. Also goes to 4300h/s at 97w at 98% max power. I got more case fans exhausting near the CPU and it boosted the hashrate
Rabid, i want ask if get max threads ini ghostrider is being small hasrate than low threads
